Question by logicmarty: Would you like tv to bring back the beer commercials and get rid of lawyer commercials/?
When a lawyer sues a store and wins, won’t the store have to raise prices to make up for the loss? And we pay for it. The lawyer, in effect is really taking money out of our pockets.

1.) I see beer commercials all the time on TV. How can you bring something back that never was taken away?

2.) It’s only a very small handful of lawyers that advertise on TV. Those that do are the “ambulance chasers” of today. I would not use any that do advertise like this.

5 cops went into my house without permission or a warrant and i want to press charges, who is the best lawyer to contact?

Best answer:

Answer by Matt
I would contact the Wisconsin Bar Association at (608) 257-3838. They should be able to provide a referral to a lawyer who is an expert in this area or, at minimum, point you in the right direction.

Question by greenmuppet: I’ve contacted several lawyer offices, but haven’t gotten a reply back. How do I go about hiring a lawyer?
I have a litigation claim to make, however all attempts to contact or get in touch with a lawyer has failed. What is the correct process of hiring a lawyer? What do I need to do in order to get a lawyers attention? And why don’t they reply to my case? It’s as if they have a right to ignore me and not even reply.

Best answer:

Answer by Ben
You can’t hire an attorney over the phone. Your phone calls were considered a consultation. If they informed you your case has merit and you are serious about hiring an attorney, you’ll have to go in and discuss what you need done and how much it will cost you.

Question by Koolaid: What would happen if I fired my Lawyer the first day of court?
The Lawyer that I right now is more like a prosecuter fighting for the state of Texas. He is suppose to be defending me and im not happy with his services. Tomorrow is my first day of court to make a plea and I am not guilty of the shit that they’re accusing me of. I refuse to have a conviction for something small like Trespassing (Which is only a technicality. I wish to fire this Lawyer. What will happen if I waited until we got in court and I did fire him?

well, it depends on how many days exactly. If, by two months, you mean 69 days, then that would be plenty and you can definitely be prepared. if anything else, then you may have some tough times.

I want to be a lawyer. I am certain that I want to work with either criminal, corporate or comparative law.

I know that comparative law would be a good choice for me, as I have gone to school there for almost ten years, and lived there for longer. I have an extensive knowledge about every aspect of the country. But how much would I be able to earn as a comparative lawyer?

And can I make a lot of money in criminal law?

Salary and Pay for Lawyers

This varies quite a bit, of course, based on experience and specialty. Moreover, many lawyers work for themselves. They charge their clients an hourly rate.

For some general sense, here is some data from the U.S. Department of Labor:

In 2002, the median annual earnings of all lawyers was ,290. The middle half of the occupation earned between ,060 and 6,810. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than ,490; at least 10 percent earned more than 5,600. Median annual earnings in the industries employing the largest numbers of lawyers in 2002 are given in the following tabulation:

* Management of companies and enterprises 1,970
* Federal government ,790
* Legal services ,970
* Local government ,710
* State government ,910

Median salaries of lawyers 6 months after graduation from law school in 2001 varied by type of work, as indicated here:

All graduates: ,000

Private practice: ,000

Business/industry: ,000

Judicial clerkship and government: ,300

Academe: ,000

Q&A: What does it mean when the DA and judge want to have an informal meeting with your lawyer?

September 29th, 2011 3 comments

Question by dontknow: What does it mean when the DA and judge want to have an informal meeting with your lawyer?
We are set to go to trial in less than 2 weeks on a felony (not guilty) this has been drug out over a year. Today on his way to meet with me the lawyer stopped by the DA office to see if there was anything else we needed to talk about for our case
they told him that the DA and judge wanted to have an informal meeting with him today, what could this possibly mean? Is it probably good news?

Best answer:

Answer by Diamond
Yea it most liekly is good news. They probably want to meet to drop some charges or give you some alternative..lesser charge. They do this sometimes becasue if it can be settled without going in front of a judge it usually will be more in your favor. Good luck
