If a person comes to a lawyer’s website, fills out an online form, what is the best way to get that lead to turn into an actual case?

Call the person to set up an appointment. Review the facts of the case…at no charge.
Many attorneys will do the first visit at no charge for this very reason. Once the person knows whether or not they might have a case worth pursuing, then the attorney is likely to be chosen to represent him or her.

My dad works for a multinational company. When people ask me what he does, I really want to answer in humble way yet shows his status. He is a senior counsel there. Can I say he’s a corporate lawyer or attorney? Normally, I say he’s a legal adviser. Is that right?

No just be honest. Say he is a corporate lawyer and if they want more say he is a senior legal counsel and say it without flourishes and everything will be alright.

I’m an attorney in California and I’ve set up a new domain to market my practice. I want to make it a podcost or a video blog that will have short audtio and/or video clips short legal tips.
I’ve been experimenting with imbedding video on my 360 page. I also have a blog on my regular law office website that is powered by Blogger.com. Blogger.com is okay, but I am looking for recommendations on the best blogging platform to do a podcast or video blog.
I’m sure that I will need to host the video on a third party such as YouTube or Yahoo video, but I should have enough storage space and bandwidth to host the MP3 files on my own site. Any suggestions?

Use wordpress on your own site and host the videos for free on google video so that you won’t waste your own bandwidth.

I’m planning on going to school and paralegal is what I’ve decided on. I like to read and find out the why of things, research and help people although I’m not a social butterfly. I imagine having my nose stuck in a book in a back room for the most part, working for a law office with some meeting and interviewing clients. I’m not sure about all this and it’s scary and intimidating, the thought of going to school for four years. I’m 46 years old.

Best: good money.
Worst: being treated like sh*t by both your bosses and your clients. Also, having to compromise you morals everyday by helping perpetuate an industry full of leaches.
Don’t be intimidated, most people in law are angry and mean but not that bright. Just mostly angry and mean.

Our payment went up 75% due to tax reassesment and had to move because of job so we do not, nor can we afford the new payments. We don’t care about the house but is there any easier way to get it over with and try to save some credit or, is it a lost cause? Should we even seek a lawyer or just let it happen? Any comments would be apprieciated!

I worked collections for both Chase, and Countrywide, and to be honest there is not a lot you can do. If you talk with the collectors, then your going to have a lot better chance of them helping you with in the long run, (that’s really all were here for). They could do something like payment plans, or Loan Modifications, etc.. See about a refinance, so you can lower your interest, and make payments until you can sell the home. Another good way to save some credit is to do a short sale.. Talk with your lender about a short sale, and if they offer it.. Basically what that does is you can’t sell your home for what your loan is worth because the market is crap, so you lower the asking price below what your loan is.. Example: Loan is worth 0,000, you have been trying to sell the home at that for awhile now and no offers, so you lower the asking price to 0,000 and get a offer. Once you have that offer you can then get in contact with your lender again, and let them know and do a short sale which means they will take the 0,000 and cut their losses.. If your not to far behind then you can also do a Deed in Lieu, which is where you surrender the property to the lender to satisfy a loan that is in default and avoid foreclosure proceedings.

“Moheb, Guzman & Stein” flows better, but honestly, neither exactly rolls off the tongue.
