Humanities Courses :

- history ( european history, us history, etc, etc )
- law
- english courses ( be it literature, ap, honors, etc )
- forensic science would be a bonus
- math ( just because i don’t think you can do anything with out it )

if you have a career counsellor talk to her,
i hope you work it out !

Question by missymo_girl: What classes to take in high school to become a lawyer?
I’m in 8th grade and I will be going to high school next year. I plan to become a lawyer. I really want to be. I was wondering what I should take. I had to do my course classes today for 9th grade. I picked; English 1 (Going to ask if I can do English honors) , Algebra 1, Physical Science for a semester then Law studies, Debate, and Journalism. Majoring in 9th grade as Social studies or English? I picked social studies. PLEASE HELP!

It really doesn’t matter. Take the courses you need to get into college – English, history, math, science, and a language. You need a 4-year college degree to apply to law school; they won’t ask or care what you took in high school.

What classes should i take in school to become a corporate lawyer?

Question by Olivia: What classes should i take in school to become a corporate lawyer?
im in high school. and iwas curious what classess i should start taking next year to become a corparate lawyer or classess that will help me along with it.

Languages (preferably Chinese or Arabic) and lots of Accounting. It’d also be extremely helpful if you ultimately got your CPA’s license.

Edit: Corporate attorney jobs are few and far between and highly competitive at the moment due to the glut of attorneys on the market. Languages are HIGHLY in demand, especially Chinese as that is a huge market that American companies are growing into – and to do that they need people who can speak the language. Likewise, financial skills are always in demand for these positions (of course, you still have to go to law school, graduate near the top of your class, etc.).

What classes should I take in high school to work in the front office of the MLB?

Question by Ryan Long: What classes should I take in high school to work in the front office of the MLB?
I am 14 and a freshman. I have a study hall this year that next year I want to replace with a class. I want to work in the MLB front office. I have the option of taking either Personal Finances 1 or Business Law or keyboarding. Which one would help me the most. And should I major in sports management in college?

Best answer:

Answer by Curious_Yank_in_South_Korea
I assume MLB is Major League Baseball. Your high school credits won’t mean squat to the MLB, but your vast knowledge of baseball and picking out talent is. Even with that, a college degree in P.E., Physical Therapy, or management would be great attributes to put on your resume`.

What are the best classes to take to become a lawyer/politician?

Question by StephenieBaby: What are the best classes to take to become a lawyer/politician?
So I’m filling out my schedule for my sophomore year of high school right now, and they’re giving me more freedom to choose what classes i want rather than the required ones. What classes should i focus on if i hope to be a lawyer or politician?

Best answer:

Answer by Dan
anything having to do with history, government. Also, brush up your writing skills and lots of practice in public speaking (speech, etc). Beyond that, it kinda has to do with what area of law you want to specialize in (if you want tax law, you’d take economics and accounting, etc etc). Finally, you want to get some business skills (computer, business classes, etc). This should give you plenty to do.

If your only in 9th grade, I would just advise you to take college prep and honors level classes at your high school. Try to take the highest level history classes you can, and when you get older take AP level history classes. When you go to college, you would then major in pre-law. If your college doesn’t have a pre-law major, then I guess you’d choose a major like criminal justice.

All that you mentioned, plus Speech, Sociology, English, Writing, Legal Terminology, Computer Courses (basic Windows, etc), Debate. You should have a well rounded knowledge of how people behave and interact and how the law works, how to write professionally and how to speak in public. Good luck!
