I would contact the Wisconsin Bar Association at (608) 257-3838. They should be able to provide a referral to a lawyer who is an expert in this area or, at minimum, point you in the right direction.

My mother in law had met Bev Doolittle in Colorado when she and my father in law were getting married 20 years ago. Bev Doolittle signed a wedding invitation for them wishing them best of luck. Since then they had been collecting her work and many of her prints. Unfortunately they lost their home to a fire and are unable to reclaim any of this memorabilia. I would love to be able to request an autograph from Bev Doolittle on a new invitation that I would provide by mail with a return envelope. I would also be willing to pay for this autograph if required. Any help on locating a mailing or e-mail address for Bev Doolittle or her office would be excellent.

ok so i have a lap top and i havent made a payment in like 6 or 7 months and its in collections, this lady calls me (she already sounds sucpicous) tellin me there has been a complaint made and im being sued…ok i know this should be in collections (and it is) but she started talking crap and yelling at me like “i hope u have a good lawyer”, i asked her where the office was located she avoided the question, several times. And then i told her i dont have i anymore, she was like “you sold it didnt you?” what do you guys think.
ok so im not saying i dont want to pay my bill i know damn well i owe dell and i do fully intend to pay Dell. its just i have had some finacial issues this year and im also a full time student. not an excuse just something for you people to knoe that are being rude

Nothing is different except the word. You will need a personal injury attorney/lawyer.

I had a civil case like that, I met with him twice, when I contracted with him and when he brought me the check. It never went to court since it was clear cut negligence and I just wanted to recoup my costs.

I was in a hit and run accident last night. I got the license plate number. The CHP located the person and the vehicle that matched the description of vehicle that hit me. My insurance is involved but should I also contact a lawyer. Would this hurt my case. I’ve never gone through this before and I want to make the right descision. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That’s exactly what I did, 21 years ago. But my family already had a relationship with the lawyer, so it was ok to call him at home. If you don’t already have a working relationship with a lawyer, are there any in your yellow pages with an emergency number? Also I’d advise you to start with the police – they may snub you, but they have to write down that you called, and that’s an important start. It’s very frustrating because the cops usually turn out to be wrong about the snub – just plow thru and make sure there is a record of your call.
Bear in mind that if there is no court order stipulating who can and can’t take them out of state, this may not even be illegal. It would be a matter of going to court and retroactively deciding who can do what. This is why you’re supposed to have it done ahead of time, in case someone gets squirrelly.

So I accepted a summer associate position back in September. I received a letter from the Director of Hiring that she’d “be in touch…shortly after the first of the year so that we can begin finalizing arrangements for htis coming summer.”
Haven’t heard anything yet. How long should I wait before I start to get paranoid that they forgot about me?
