What type of lawyer should I look for?

September 8th, 2011 3 comments

Question by rema: What type of lawyer should I look for?
I had a bad crown put on and dentist refuse to replace or do anything about it. It is causing a lot of pressure and I was having throbbing pain. I went back to my old dentist and she told me the crown must be replaced and gave me an estimate. The BAD dentist agreed to pay for part of the replacement, but this is not fair as I’ve paid for the whole crown before. I would like to hire a crown, but I don’t know which kind of lawyer. Can anyone help me? Thank you.

As long as you have an undergrad degree when you apply to law school, it doesn’t matter if its not pre law.

I went to college with some lawyers who majored in English and History.

What should I do now that a debt collector is after me?

August 13th, 2011 6 comments

Question by Mikey SC: What should I do now that a debt collector is after me?
Recently I have received calls from a collection agency that claims to be a law office. The first time they called they said this was the last chance I had to pay them the full balance (,200) before they sued me. They suggested that I should ask my family members (which they named off) for the money. I told them that I would ask my family and that the only thing I can currently do is make some type of payment plan. They responded that the only options I have are to pay it off now or get sued.

The second time I informed him that I would not ask my family member for ,200 and that I would just have to let nature takes it course and they can sue me. Once I told him that he was open to the idea of a payment plan. The catch was that I would have to use my Sears credit card, which I forgot I had, to make a ,000 payment to them then monthly payments after that.

I want to pay this debt but I am not using a credit card to do it.

My question is what are my option here?

If the collection agency won’t work with you, go ahead and let them sue you. The judge will take a look at your income and expenses and order them to accept a monthly repayment schedule.

Should familes respect the eldest grandchild more than the others simply b/c she is a lawyer?

Question by SHAY RN: Should familes respect the eldest grandchild more than the others simply b/c she is a lawyer?
Our family is pretty big, and it appears that the oldest grandchild gets so much more respect than anyone else, she is a lawyer but the other kids also have careers one is a nurse, one builds housing two are in school to become a nurse, one works for the US embassy, so why is she so much more favored, her opinion counts and no one else’s does.I am getting very flustered by this.

No, that’s wrong. It’s just like that bible story (I’m an atheist, but I still know the story XP) where the man favors his youngest son. Of COURSE the siblings are going to get jealous enough to sell him to a slaver, DUH! XD Sorry, had to get that out of my system. Anyway, I think favoritism is wrong. Just my opinion, though.
